Quando ho visto il tema della sfida, ho pensato subito ad una fotografia di famiglia del 1958. In attesa di partire dalla stazione di Bologna, zia Elia tiene in braccio mia sorella, al suo fianco c’è il mio bellissimo nonno materno e seduta sulla valigia la zia Tea….io dovevo ancora nascere.
When I saw the Challenge's theme, suddendly a
family photo from 1958 came to my mind...At the train station of Bologna, while
waiting to board, my Aunt Elia is pictured with my sister in her arms, to her
side stands my handsome Grandfather and Aunt Tea, sitting on a suitcase...I
wasn't born yet...
La fotografa è come sempre mia mamma, è lei che mi ha trasmesso l’amore per le fotografie, spesso abbiamo trascorso bellissimi momenti insieme riguardando scatole di vecchie fotografie. Conoscevo le storie di ogni fotografia perché ogni volta la tormentavo di domande: qui dove eravate? E questa chi è? Ma che anno era? Insomma, ero totalmente rapita dai suoi racconti…..quanto mi manca questo!
As always, our family photographer was my
Mum...and she passed her passion for photography on to me...we often spent
beautiful moments together while looking at cherished old pictures. I knew the
stories behind every single photo, because every time I kept asking her
questions about the who's, the where's, the years...Completely mesmerized by her
tales...how much I miss all this!
Da questa fotografia è nato questo piccolo e semplice LO 8”x8”.
From that picture at the Station, and all
those memories, this small and simple LO 8”x8” came to be.
Come base ho utilizzato un foglio da Collage Mini Paper Stash by Tim Holtz e l'ho velato con un sottile strato di gesso.
Ho timbrato il treno (Paris to London CMS160) con un inchiostro nero ad asciugatura lenta, ricoperto con polvere da embossing clear e poi embossato.
As a base I have used a sheet from Tim Holtz's Collage Mini Paper Stash, covered with a thin layer of Gesso.
Stamped the train image (Paris to London CMS160 Stamp) with a slow drying Black Ink, covered with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
L’ho colorato con i Distress Marker ed in seguito ho tagliato il contorno per poter inserire la fotografia, allo stesso modo ho stampato e colorato le mongolfiere.
I have coloured the stamp with Distress Markers and later fussy cut all around
in order to insert the picture, using the same method I have stamped and coloured the hot air balloons.
Con l’aiuto del blending tool ho colorato i lati del foglio con Distress Oxide Valnut Stain e poi ho spruzzato l’acqua per ottenere le macchie (scusatemi ho scordato di scattare la fotografia).
Con l’Embossing Paste Metallic Gold e uno stencil, ho creato mezza cornice per contenere la fotografia, una volta asciutto, ho passato sulla texture pochissima Metallique Wax - White Gold, giusto un tocco per smorzare un poco la brillantezza.
With the Blending Tool I have added colour to
the sides of the paper with Distress Oxide Valnut Stain and then spritzed with water to achieve all those
beautiful stains (sorry, I forgot to take the picture).
With Metallic Gold Embossing Paste and a
stencil I have created some sort of frame for the picture, once dry I added on the textured
parts few touches of White Gold
Metallique Wax, just to soften the brightness a bit.
Poi ho tagliato delle tag da Classic Kraft Stock di Tim Holtz (carta perfetta per essere embossate e grattate) e ho aggiunto dei ticket come abbellimenti. Sui ticket ho stampato delle macchie e li ho sporcati con con Distress Vintage Photo.
Non ho potuto rinunciare a dare un tocco di Backed Texture Patina Oxide e Vintage Beeswax sui bordi.
I die cut few Tags from Tim Holtz's Classic Kraft
Stock (perfect paper to be embossed and
distressed) and added some tickets embellishments. I stamped few stains
on the tickets and aged them with Distress Vintage Photo.
I couldn't resist to add few touches of Baked Textures Patina Oxide and Vintage Beeswax on the edge.
Prima di considerare terminato un progetto, ma in particolare un LO, scatto una fotografia e la osservo, sono convinta che sia di grande aiuto vedere l'effetto complessivo da un'altra prospettiva.
Con questo metodo spesso tolgo o aggiungo abbellimenti, timbrate ecc.. In questo caso mi ha infastidita l'area vuota sulla parte destra della fotografia, così ho deciso di aggiungere ancora un po’ di texture con Paste-Metallic Gold.
Before calling a project done, expecially with a LO, I
always take a picture to see how it looks...I think it helps a lot to see the
overall effect! I often take off or add embellishments, stamping etc..In this
case I was bothered by the empty area on
the right side of the picture, so I decided to add a bit more of texture with
Metallic Gold Embossing Paste.
E’ un LO molto semplice ma spero tanto che vi sia piaciuto e che possiate unirvi a questa bella sfida.
It's a very simple LO, but I do hope you enjoyed the process and that you can join this beautiful challenge.
